Final Phase of Nowy Rynek
The final phase of the Nowy Rynek development has begun. Building C, designed by our team, is expected to become the first commercial office building in Poland to achieve net-zero operational CO₂ emissions, thanks to the use of advanced and energy-efficient building services solutions.
The core of the system consists of two reversible heat pumps, each providing 300 kW of heating and cooling capacity. The units operate with a ground source system comprising 53 geothermal boreholes, each 250 metres deep, enabling efficient use of geothermal energy.
An additional energy source will be a cascade of eight air-source reversible heat pumps, each with a heating capacity of 100 kW and a cooling capacity of 195 kW. The system is further supported by a water-to-water heat pump supplying secondary heating coils and using heat recovered from the cooling system.
Domestic hot water will be produced by dedicated CO₂ heat pumps operating within a storage system, improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions.
Occupant comfort in the office areas will be ensured by a chilled beam system providing both heating and cooling. The building is also equipped with trench convectors supporting the heating system.
The ventilation system has been designed with heat recovery units and free cooling functionality, significantly improving the building’s energy efficiency. During the winter season, proper indoor humidity levels will be maintained by water humidifiers.
The building will also include a greywater recovery system with a capacity of 22 m³ per day, enabling more efficient water management.
The applied technologies align with modern office building design standards focused on energy efficiency, user comfort, and sustainability.
The building has already received preliminary LEED v4 Platinum certification and is being prepared for WELL v2 certification.
