Visit to the Kopanina Heat Plant

At the beginning of February this year, we visited the modern municipal heat plant located on Boczna Street in Poznań, designed by Termo Studio for Veolia Poznań. The facility and its design solutions were presented by Bartek Jaskólski, who together with his design team supervised the conceptual, construction, and execution phases of the project. The construction of the heat plant incorporated the most advanced technological solutions meeting very strict environmental protection standards and ensuring a minimal level of CO₂ emissions to the atmosphere. The heat plant is powered by natural gas, which is the least emissive fuel among those currently used in district heating systems. The main components of the exhaust gases emitted from the chimney are primarily water vapor, as well as CO₂, which accounts for only 40% of the emissions generated by coal combustion.
